Firstly, we will need to analyse the storyboard and shooting schedule to decide which equipment we will need to take to each location and to each shoot. We will then need to book the equipment for those specific dates, since the equipment available is shared between all media students at the school. We are planning for the filming process to begin on 1st February and conclude on the 9th February, giving us time to re-shoot if necessary.
All of the equipment we plan to use is available from school and is shown below:
SONY HD CAMERA
If you have ever tried to track a subject while walking, you'll have noticed the unavoidable camcorder shake that this entails. It's pretty unavoidable and for this reason most professionals use a tracking system or dolly when they shoot objects that are moving. A dolly is a wheeled cart on which the camcorder and tripod is mounted, the dolly is then pushed along as you film.

Secondly, we had to elect roles and responsibilities within the group for when we were on location shooting the film. We decided that the roles we were given would remain throughout, as intentionally changing around would be awkward. The only exceptions being for when not all group members were present for filming. If this situation arises then the present group members would have to communicate and organise things on-location, which is not ideal but I have confidence that we will be able to do so successfully if need be.
Richard will be responsible for camera work, this will include operating the camera and also doing the work of a grip, since we do not have the numbers for both positions to be filled separately. A camera operator is responsible for correctly carrying out the shot and notifying the director if a second take is required. The grip is responsible for the physicality of the shoot, this means setting up the equipment for the shot and also planning ahead to ensure that filming runs as smoothly as possible.
Jodie will be responsible for managing the actors and distributing scripts. Roles also include giving directions to the actors for how things should be performed if required to do so by the director. She will also be responsible for distributing and collecting props. This also entails the role of organising the props to be present on location for filming.
Mel will be monitoring continuity and managing costume. This includes watching back footage immediately, if required, to see if a re-take is necessary. Also, Mel will need to ensure that all costume is present on location for the actors.
I will be the director. This involves overseeing the whole process and ensuring that any creative decisions that are made are moving the project forwards and towards our aims and intentions. A further role I will undertake is the clapper loader. This means I will need to call the shot at the beginning of each take and also write the correct details on a clapperboard. The clapper loader is also responsible for the loading and collection of the tapes used by the cameras, so I will need to monitor this throughout.
